Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian has criticized Russia’s supply of weapons to Azerbaijan.

Speaking to Kommersant daily newspaper of Russia, Nalbandian said  “we are obligated to make efforts to maintain balance and prevent new tensions in the region.”

“Azerbaijan has repeatedly increased its military spending in recent years,” the Armenian FM stated. “We [i.e. Armenia] have allied strategic relations with Russia, very close military, including technico-military—collaboration, news.am reports.

“It is no secret to anyone that we buy weapons first of all from our strategic ally [i.e. Russia]. (…) [But] we cannot like [the fact] that it [i.e. Azerbaijan] buys weapons from our strategic ally, which exerts great efforts for cooperation with Armenia.”
