Sergey Markov is a Russian statesman, public figure, diplomat, and political scientist. He served as a deputy of the 5th State Duma of the Russian Federation and was a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (2007–2011). Markov has also been a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation across three convocations and served as a trusted representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2012. He is the founder and general director of the Political Studies Institute LLC and holds a Ph.D. in Political Science.
