Azerbaijan's FM informs EU envoy on peace talks with Armenia
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Magdalena Grono, the European Union’s Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, in Baku on Thursday to discuss the current state and future prospects of Azerbaijan–EU cooperation, the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process, as well as regional and international issues.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the discussions covered cooperation in the political, economic, transport, and energy security spheres, as well as existing cooperation platforms and instruments and the steps required to advance them, News.Az reports, citing the Foreign Ministry.
Bayramov briefed the EU delegation on the progress achieved and prospects for the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process, outlining Azerbaijan’s position on the matter. The two sides welcomed the steps taken within the framework of the normalization process, including confidence-building measures.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
