Azerbaijani wrestler crowned European champion
Freestyle wrestler Sharif Sharifov (92kg) has bagged another gold medal for Azerbaijan at the European Championships in Bucharest, Romania.
He secured the gold medal thanks to a victory over Polish Zbigniew Baranowski 9-1.
On the way to the final, Sharifov defeated Russian Magomed Kurbanov 6-2 and Georgian Irakli Mtsituri 8-2.
Azerbaijani Haji Aliyev (65kg) and Jabrayil Hasanov (79kg) also reached the top of the European podium.
