Japan revises earthquake up to magnitude 7.5

Japan's Meteorological Agency has revised the earthquake up to a magnitude 7.5, News.Az reports, citing Sky News.

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has the quake recorded as a magnitude 7.4.

In its initial readings, Japan said it had been recorded as a magnitude 7.3 - so there has been some change.

On Japan's own earthquake scale of zero to seven, this has come in as a 5+.
