The meeting focused on the need to strengthen environmental protection of the world’s largest inland body of water and to enhance international cooperation in this area, News.Az reports, citing AZERTAC.
On the same day, a high-level panel discussion titled “Strengthening Environmental Governance and International Cooperation for the Protection of the Caspian Sea” was held at the UN headquarters in Geneva. The event was co-organised by the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the United Nations Office and other international organisations in Geneva, the Caspisnet Scientific Network, and the Secretariat of the Tehran Convention.
