As the world accelerates its transition away from fossil fuels, a new geopolitical and economic competition is emerging around renewable energy, green hydrogen, electricity exports, and critical clean technology infrastructure.

The World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition has opened in Rotterdam, bringing together global energy leaders, policymakers and investors for one of the industry’s largest events focused on hydrogen and clean energy development. The event is taking place at Rotterdam Ahoy and is expected to gather around 10,000 industry experts from around the world.

A new clean energy initiative aimed at developing hydrogen technology has been officially launched in Uzbekistan, marking another step in the country’s transition toward renewable energy.

Japan and the European Union on Monday agreed to work together on policies related to creating demand and supply for clean hydrogen as well as to cooperate in advancing technologies to develop the new fuel, a joint statement said, News.Az reports citing Reuters.
