Uruguayan Economy Minister Gabriel Oddone has confirmed that fuel prices in the country will increase again starting Friday, driven by rising international oil prices.

The Wholesale Price Index (WPI)-linked inflation increased to 3.88 per cent in March, from 2.13 per cent in February 2026, the highest in 41 months, according to the data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday.

Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda stated on Monday that the central bank will continue raising interest rates if economic and price trends align with its forecasts.
