A rocket from SpaceX blasted off from Florida early Friday carrying two U.S. astronauts, a French astronaut and a Russian cosmonaut on an eight-month science mission to the International Space Station.

SpaceX is set to launch the Crew-12 astronaut mission to the International Space Station for NASA today (Feb. 13) at 5:15 a.m. EST (1015 GMT).

NASA said on Thursday it is weighing an early return of the International Space Station crew due to an undisclosed medical issue, just hours after scrapping a planned spacewalk.

The SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft successfully relocated from the forward to the side port of the Harmony module of the International Space Station (ISS).

SpaceX and NASA said on Friday they plan to launch the space agency's Crew-9 mission to the International Space Station (ISS) no earlier than Aug. 18.
