The Gori District Court in Georgia has ordered the pre-trial detention of six police officers accused of brutally beating two men during an arrest on 27 May.
As part of the investigation into the criminal organization Khimprom, a corruption component has been identified, including the involvement of police officers.
A federal judge has scheduled sentencing hearings for five former Memphis police officers convicted of federal charges related to the 2023 beating death of Tyre Nichols. The sentencing is set for the week of December 15, following delays caused by the unexpected recusal of the previous judge.
