Japanese police on Tuesday rearrested Kodai Murata, second lieutenant in the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (SDF), who is suspected of violating Japan's Firearms and Swords Control Law by forcibly breaking into the Chinese Embassy in Japan on March 24, according to Japanese media reports. Previously, he had been arrested on suspicion of trespassing at the Chinese Embassy in Japan. 

Japan has confirmed it will not deploy Self-Defense Forces personnel to Ukraine following a potential ceasefire, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi said.

Japan has raised “serious concern” over a near-miss with a Chinese fighter jet, highlighting rising tensions amid China’s recent naval activity in the Pacific.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have bolstered their capabilities with additional French CAESAR self-propelled artillery systems, which have shown effectiveness in the field for Ukrainian artillerymen.
