Currently, there is active discussion about the U.S. military strategy in Syria, the construction of a new military base in Kobani, and how these developments will affect relations with Türkiye. In his interview with News.Az, Professor Dr. Mahmut Yardımcıoğlu, Director of the Institute of West Asia Studies, assessed the impact of U.S.-Türkiye tensions on regional stability, the long-term consequences of establishing military bases in Kobani, and how this tension might affect such players as Russia and Iran.
