Azerbaijan has joined the Earth Hour 2026 global campaign organised by the IDEA Public Association, the official coordinator of the international initiative in the country, in cooperation with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

A newborn Mekong River Irrawaddy dolphin was spotted on Tuesday, becoming the first newborn calf recorded in the country in 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) said in a news release.

The World Wide Fund for Nature's (WWF) Norwegian chapter is set to face off against the Norwegian government in court on Thursday, challenging the country’s decision to open its seabed to mining without conducting adequate environmental impact assessments.
