Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Abu Dhabi on February 4, marking another step in the ongoing normalization process between the two countries.

The leaders welcomed progress in implementing the outcomes of the Washington Peace Summit, hosted and witnessed by US President Donald Trump. They emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum in advancing the bilateral normalization process, News.Az reports, citing AZERTAC.

Aliyev and Pashinyan noted that both societies are already experiencing tangible benefits of peace. They expressed satisfaction with the start of bilateral trade, the ongoing export of Azerbaijani oil products to Armenia, and the transit of grain and other goods from third countries to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory. The leaders agreed to explore further opportunities to expand trade and economic cooperation.

They also welcomed reciprocal visits by civil society representatives and underscored the need to broaden confidence-building measures.

The talks included discussions on the implementation of the TRIPP and other connectivity projects. Both leaders reaffirmed their readiness to continue working toward strengthening peace and stability and agreed to maintain regular contacts in support of the bilateral normalization process.
