More than 300 hours have passed since Iran imposed a nationwide internet blackout, an internet monitoring group said, as authorities attempt to control information during the ongoing protests.

NetBlocks warned, “Attempts to obscure the truth will be documented in real time: The world is watching,” News.Az reports, citing Iran International.

The group added that most of the country remains offline, with limited access allowed only through “whitelisted” networks.

The Iranian government is also reportedly attempting to influence international opinion by placing targeted opinion pieces abroad.
