The near-total internet blackout in Iran is now entering its 57th day, with a total of 1,344 hours, according to the internet watchdog NetBlocks.

Iran’s nationwide internet disruption has passed the 48-hour mark, according to the London-based monitoring organization NetBlocks, leaving large parts of the country cut off from online communication as regional tensions escalate.

More than 300 hours have passed since Iran imposed a nationwide internet blackout, an internet monitoring group said, as authorities attempt to control information during the ongoing protests.

Iran could restore internet in the coming days, a senior parliament member said, after authorities shut communications during the worst protests since 1979.

Iran has now been without nationwide internet access for more than 100 hours, with the shutdown reaching 108 hours on Monday, according to cybersecurity monitor NetBlocks.

A nationwide internet and phone outage continued in Iran on Friday, with several news websites—including state-linked outlets—reported offline.
