The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded the quake at magnitude 5.7, locating it 103 kilometers (64 miles) east of Manay municipality in Davao Oriental province.
Authorities confirmed there were no reports of damage or tsunami warnings following the tremor.
