SOCAR, Türkiye’s BOTAS ink energy agreements
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and the BOTAS, the state oil and gas company of Türkiye, have signed agreements in the energy sector, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov announced on X, News.Az reports.
Minister Jabbarov pointed out the rapid development of the Azerbaijan- Türkiye strategic partnership in all areas.“The strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Türkiye is developing across all sectors, including the economy and energy. The agreements signed between SOCAR and BOTAS in the energy sector, with the participation of Alparslan Bayraktar, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Türkiye, will further enhance regional energy security,” the minister stated.

In turn, Turkish minister Bayraktar expressed hope that the agreements will be beneficial for the two brotherly countries.
“During our visit to Baku, we took new steps to lay the groundwork for the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Natural Gas, which we signed with Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mr. Mikail Cabbarov in Istanbul last month.With the four agreements signed between BOTAŞ and SOCAR, Azerbaijani gas will be transported to Europe and Nakhchivan via Turkey, and Turkmenistan gas will be delivered to our country. We also signed the extension of the natural gas supply agreement between BOTAŞ and AGSC, which will expire this year, until the end of 2030. I wish the agreements to be beneficial for the two brotherly countries,” he said on X.
