The Kremlin expressed support on Friday for U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s opposition to Ukraine’s use of U.S.-supplied ATACMS missiles to strike Russian territory.

Russia has not yet sought assistance from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in response to the ATACMS missile strikes on its territory, according to CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov.

The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine closed on Wednesday following a warning about a possible significant air raid on November 20.

For the first time, Ukraine’s Defense Forces have reportedly launched ATACMS ballistic missiles at Russian territory.

Russia views the potential decision to launch ATACMS missiles deep into Russian territory as a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov journalists.

US President Joe Biden is reportedly prepared to permit the use of long-range missiles from the UK and France for strikes within Russian territory, though he will not authorize ATACMS missiles for such operations, The Times reported.
