Ford Motor Company reported a nearly 9% decline in U.S. vehicle sales in the first quarter, as affordability pressures continue to weigh on consumer demand across the auto industry.

Ford Motor Company sold 175,584 vehicles in the United States in October, marking a 1.6 percent year-on-year increase, the automaker announced on Monday.

Both General Motors and Ford Motor Company announced on Friday that they achieved their best annual U.S. new vehicle sales since 2019, before the disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic and ongoing supply chain issues.
