Israel intercepted nine aid vessels carrying around 150 activists from approximately 30 countries, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition informed.

Activists aboard a flotilla attempting to break Israel's naval blockade and deliver aid to Gaza say they are back on course after a reported confrontation with an Israeli warship early on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the EU Commission today called on Israel to lift its blockade on Gaza and permit the entry of humanitarian aid.

Germany, France, and Britain on Wednesday urged Israel to end its blockade of humanitarian aid into Gaza, warning of "an acute risk of starvation, epidemic disease, and death."
