Azerbaijan and Türkiye have exchanged flags in a ceremony as part of preparations for the upcoming joint Heydar Aliyev–2026 military exercise scheduled to take place in Kars, Türkiye.

Azerbaijani investments helped boost the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway capacity to 5 million tons, the country’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov said on Wednesday. 

On August 22, the ceremony inaugurating the construction of the Kars-Ighdir-Aralik-Diluju railway (along the border with Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic), was held in Igdir, Türkiye.

The leadership of JSC Georgian Railway visited the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway to assess its current status.

It is quite possible to increase freight traffic along the Middle Corridor to 11 million tons by 2030, the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Binali Yıldırım said during the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Shusha, News.Az reports.

Austrian companies are keen to benefit from the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
