Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) won more than a two-thirds majority in the House of Representatives in Sunday’s election, clinching a historic landslide victory that gives Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi a major boost to advance her conservative policy agenda.

Japan is holding snap parliamentary elections at a moment of growing public dissatisfaction over rising prices and declining purchasing power.

Japan is preparing for a snap general election on Sunday to elect members of the House of Representatives, the 465-seat lower house of the National Diet, News.Az reports citing foreign media.

Under the chairmanship of Mazahir Panahov, the Central Election Commission (CEC) held another meeting on Wednesday.

"Snap presidential elections will be held in Iran on June 28," said Press Secretary of Election Headquarters of the Islamic Republic Mohsen Eslami, News.az reports citing Mehr News Agency.
