The move comes as Iraq seeks to mitigate disruptions to its oil exports caused by the ongoing crisis in the strategic waterway, News.Az reports, citing Iran International.
In parallel, Iraqi authorities are working to resume exports via the Kirkuk–Ceyhan pipeline to Türkiye in an effort to offset shipping constraints through Hormuz.
The initiative follows recent attacks on vessels off Iraq’s coast during oil transfer operations, which have further complicated export logistics.
