Israel’s main international airport, Ben Gurion Airport, announced that its airspace will reopen as early as Monday evening for civilian flights in an “extremely limited format.”

Officials said that starting Tuesday, flight operations will gradually expand depending on the security situation, and initially only Israeli carriers are expected to operate, News.Az reports, citing Reuters.

The airport closure began on Saturday following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, which prompted retaliatory missile attacks from Iran targeting Israel.

Authorities are monitoring conditions closely to ensure the safety of passengers and air traffic.
