Norwegian energy giant Equinor reported a net loss of $210 million in the third quarter on Wednesday, compared with a $2.3 billion profit in the same period last year.

Equinor has made an oil discovery on its Johan Castberg oilfield in the Arctic Barents Sea, the company and the Norwegian Offshore Directorate said in a statement on Monday, News.Az reports.

Equinor posted slightly higher-than-expected profits for the final quarter of 2024, while revising its oil and gas output forecast upwards and scaling back its renewable energy expansion plans.

Equinor has made a new discovery in the North Sea, located 17 kilometers west of the Troll field.
