A briefing titled “Saving Lives through Humanitarian Mine Action in Azerbaijan” was held at the UN headquarters in New York on April 4, co-organized by the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the United Nations and the Center for the Analysis of International Relations, marking the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action.

Azerbaijan has developed a new bill on mine action.

Azerbaijan's Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) exhibited the features and applications of the MINELAB F3 detector at the ADEX exhibition in Baku, News.Az reports.

To enhance collaboration and share knowledge with international organizations focused on addressing landmine and unexploded ordnance (UXO) threats, Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Mine Action Agency of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), recently led a delegation on a visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

“During mine-clearing operations in the Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, Khojavand, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, and Zangilan districts, 78 anti-personnel mines, 32 anti-tank mines, and 839 unexploded ordnances (UXOs) were found and neutralized from August19 to 25,” Azerbaijan’s Mine Action Agency said in a statement.

An Azerbaijani delegation continues visiting Southeast Asia to expand cooperation and exchange experiences with international organizations specialized in mine action.

The UN Headquarters in New York recently hosted a significant event focusing on mine safety activities in Azerbaijan.

Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) Samir Poladov met with a delegation led by UK Deputy Ambassador to Baku Edward Evans, News.Az report.

“Having gained and still gaining experience in humanitarian demining, Azerbaijan is eager to share it with others facing similar challenges. These knowledge and skills come at a price,” said Deputy Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Nusrat Suleymanov in his closing remarks at the 3rd International Conference on Mine Action themed “Mitigating Environmental Impact of Landmines: Resource Mobilization for Safe and Green Future” wrapped up Friday in Baku, News.Az reports.
