At least 799 people have lost their lives and 1,080 others have been injured in rain-related incidents and floods across Pakistan since June 26, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported on Monday.

More than 300 people have been killed in Pakistan as heavy monsoon rains and flooding continue to wreak havoc across the country, local officials said Saturday.

Nearly 200 people have died in north-west Pakistan due to torrential rains over the past 24 hours, with severe weather also causing the crash of a rescue helicopter, local officials reported on August 15. Cloudbursts and flash floods have been widespread in the region.

The death toll from the heavy monsoon rains and flash floods that have struck Pakistan since June 26 has climbed to 291, with 698 people reported injured.

Heavy monsoon rains have unleashed devastating floods across Gilgit-Baltistan, resulting in the deaths of at least 10 people and injuries to four others, local media reported Sunday. The floods have caused infrastructure damage exceeding PKR 20 billion.

Pakistan’s monsoon death toll reached 221 as fresh cloudbursts battered parts of the country, unleashing flash floods, landslides and lightning strikes, particularly in mountainous regions, the country's disaster response agency said on Tuesday.

Monsoon rains in Pakistan have led to the deaths of more than 110 people, including numerous children, since their onset in late June, according to government figures.

At least 72 people have died and over 130 have been injured due to ten days of heavy monsoon rains and flash floods across Pakistan, according to the National Disaster Management Authority and local officials on Monday.
