Polish authorities have charged four Ukrainians and one Russian in connection with an alleged Russia-orchestrated sabotage plot, the National Prosecutor’s Office announced on January 16.

Polish prosecutors are seeking European Arrest Warrants for two Ukrainian citizens accused of carrying out Russian-backed sabotage on a key railway line last month. The suspects, Yevhenii Ivanov and Oleksandr Kononov, allegedly damaged parts of the Warsaw–Lublin rail route on Nov. 15–16 under orders from Russian intelligence before fleeing to Belarus.

Polish security services have successfully thwarted a sabotage operation orchestrated by Russia and Belarus, which was intended to destabilize the country, Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski announced on Monday.

Ten people involved in “acts of sabotage and subversion” in Poland have been arrested in recent weeks, said the nation’s prime minister on Tuesday, News.Az reports citing Anadolu Agency.
