Tajani praises Azerbaijan for helping evacuate Italians from Iran
Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone call with Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on Friday to discuss the regional security situation, including the recent Iranian drone attack on Azerbaijani territory.
Bayramov stressed that such attacks on Azerbaijan are unacceptable, noting that any actions against the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity violate international law, News.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry. He added that such actions, which threaten civilians and infrastructure, pose a serious challenge to regional stability and security.

Tajani expressed concern over the situation, highlighted the importance of restoring stability in the region, and expressed solidarity with Azerbaijan. The Italian foreign minister also thanked Azerbaijan for assisting in the evacuation of Italian citizens through its territory.
The two officials further discussed prospects for cooperation within the framework of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy.
