Global automaker Stellantis N.V. is preparing a major strategic shift that will concentrate investment on its core brands, as new Chief Executive Officer Antonio Filosa pushes a turnaround plan aimed at restoring profitability and market share, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Stellantis NV plans to continue filing a high number of patents even as the automaker cancels several electric vehicle projects as part of a strategic reset, the company’s chief of innovation, Anne Laliron, said Tuesday.

Stellantis NV reported a net loss of €20.1 billion for the second half of 2025, following €22.2 billion in charges linked to a scaling back of its electric vehicle (EV) ambitions.

Stellantis NV has postponed the launch of its 2026 strategic plan to the second quarter of 2026, giving new CEO Antonio Filosa additional time to prepare for the automaker’s capital markets day.

Franco-Italian-US automaker Stellantis on Wednesday named Antonio Filosa, the Italian head of its North American operations, as its new chief executive, effective from June 23.
