President Donald Trump has accused Iran of downing a US helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz and said the United States will respond out of “necessity.”

A U.S. military Apache helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing on farmland in Buan County, southwestern South Korea, on Monday, officials said.

North Korea condemned the U.S. decision on Friday to approve a potential sale of Apache attack helicopters to South Korea, calling it a provocative move designed to deliberately heighten security instability in the region, News.Az reports citing Yonhap news agency.

The U.S. State Department has approved the sale of up to 36 AH-64E Apache helicopters, logistics and support to South Korea in a deal worth $3.5 billion.

The United States will deliver the first batch of Apache AH-64 attack helicopters to Poland by the end of 2024, Robert Frommholz, Deputy Chairman of the Polish Armaments Agency, said in an interview with Polsat TV, News.Az reports.
