A watchdog has reported that the internet blackout imposed by the Iranian regime has now lasted for two months.

The near-total internet blackout in Iran is now entering its 57th day, with a total of 1,344 hours, according to the internet watchdog NetBlocks.

Iran’s Intelligence Ministry said it has confiscated hundreds of Starlink satellite internet systems, alleging they were smuggled into the country by the United States and Israel.

Iran’s nationwide internet disruption has passed the 48-hour mark, according to the London-based monitoring organization NetBlocks, leaving large parts of the country cut off from online communication as regional tensions escalate.

Iran will fully restore internet access across the country in the coming days, Ali Bahraini, Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, said.

More than 300 hours have passed since Iran imposed a nationwide internet blackout, an internet monitoring group said, as authorities attempt to control information during the ongoing protests.

Iran could restore internet in the coming days, a senior parliament member said, after authorities shut communications during the worst protests since 1979.
