Mongolia has been elected to the UNESCO World Heritage Committee for the 2025–2029 term, marking the first time the country has joined the body responsible for registering, conserving, and funding World Heritage sites.

Azerbaijan has been elected as a member of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee (WHC) for the 2025–2029 term during the 25th session of the General Assembly of the States Parties to the 1972 Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage in Paris, News.Az reports, citing the Foreign Ministry.

During the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, two Azerbaijani sites were officially added to the Tentative World Heritage List.
