Azerbaijan sends humanitarian aid to Iran
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has ordered the dispatch of humanitarian assistance to Iran to support people affected by the current crisis.
The aid convoy is being delivered by vehicles from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, News.Az reports, citing AZERTAC.
The humanitarian cargo includes nearly 30 tons of food supplies. Emil Hasanov, director of the Reserves Control Department at the State Reserves Agency of Azerbaijan, said the shipment contains: 10 tons of flour, 6 tons of rice, 2.4 tons of sugar, more than 4 tons of drinking water, about 600 kilograms of tea, nearly 2 tons of medicines and medical supplies.

Officials said the trucks carrying the humanitarian aid have already departed and are expected to reach their destination soon.
The assistance was organized after a March 8 phone call between President Ilham Aliyev and Masoud Pezeshkian, aimed at helping meet the urgent needs of the neighboring country.
Government officials Niyazi Rahimov and Gurban Sadygov are accompanying the humanitarian convoy to the border city of Astara.
