Bonnie Tyler undergoes emergency surgery in Portugal and begins recovery

Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler has been hospitalized in Portugal after undergoing emergency surgery, according to reports from her team and official statements.

The 74-year-old artist was taken to a hospital in Faro, where she has a home, for emergency intestinal surgery. Her representatives confirmed that the procedure was successful and that she is now recovering in hospital, News.Az reports, citing  Music-News.

The news was shared through an official statement, which said she had been admitted for urgent medical treatment. It added that the surgery went well and that she is now recuperating, with fans, friends, and family expected to be concerned and wishing her a full recovery.

Tyler, best known for global hits such as “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” has lived part-time in Portugal for years. She is also known for other songs including “Holding Out for a Hero” and “It’s a Heartache,” which helped establish her international success over several decades.

Reports say the singer is currently in a stable condition following the procedure, though she remains under medical supervision as she continues to recover. Her upcoming schedule has not yet been officially confirmed in relation to her health situation.
