A landmine explosion in Azerbaijan’s Aghdara district has left one person injured near the Sugovushan settlement.

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense has urged the public not to be alarmed by explosion sounds that may be heard in the coming days.

A 55-year-old local resident was injured after striking a land mine in the village of Shikhark in Azerbaijan’s Aghdara District on Wednesday, according to a joint statement issued by the Interior Ministry, the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).

Remains of more than 10 people have been discovered during search operations in the Balligaya village of Azerbaijan’s liberated Agdara district.

Under the instructions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, another 29 families (115 people) were relocated to the Hasanriz village of the country’s liberated Aghdara district on Monday as part of the “Great Return” State Program.

On August 21, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva reviewed the progress of restoration of private houses and infrastructure in the village of Vangli in Aghdara district where they visited the home of village resident Vakil Mamedov.

A civilian was injured in a landmine blast in the village of Hasangaya, in Azerbaijan’s liberated Aghdara district.

Under the instructions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, another 20 families (68 people) were relocated to the Hasanriz village of the country’s liberated Aghdara district on Tuesday as part of the Great Return State Program.
