Azerbaijan has released updated demographic data showing that its population has reached 10,268,165 people as of April 1, 2026, reflecting a slight increase since the beginning of the year.

Gender equality, family protection, and demographic development are key priorities in Azerbaijan’s social policy. Over the past decades, the government, international organizations, and civil society institutions have worked together to address gender-related challenges, strengthen family values, and promote sustainable demographic development.

Azerbaijan has been elected as a member of the UN Commission on Population and Development (CPD) for 2026–2030 and the Commission on Social Development (CSocD) for 2025–2029.

As of October 1, 2025, Azerbaijan’s population rose by 28,758 people, or 0.3%, reaching 10,253,647, News.Az reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.

As of June 1, 2025, Azerbaijan's population has increased by 14,205 people, or 0.14%, bringing the total to 10,239,094, according to the State Statistical Committee.
