Amazon has officially stepped deeper into the booming weight-loss drug market, launching a new GLP-1 treatment program designed to make obesity care faster, more convenient, and more accessible for patients.

At least six Indian pharmaceutical companies have introduced low-cost versions of Novo Nordisk’s (Novo Nordisk) blockbuster diabetes drug Ozempic and weight-loss medication Wegovy over the weekend, offering treatment at prices up to 70% lower than the original.

Novo Nordisk announced Tuesday that its experimental obesity treatment UBT251, a triple agonist targeting the GLP-1, GIP and glucagon receptors, delivered a statistically significant mean weight loss of up to 19.7% after 24 weeks in a clinical trial.
