Russia and Ukraine have carried out a significant prisoner-of-war (POW) exchange under the terms of agreements brokered in Istanbul, both countries confirmed on Wednesday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed a 14-member delegation to lead peace negotiations with Russia in Istanbul on July 23, while signaling upcoming rounds of prisoner-of-war (POW) exchanges.

On June 19, Russia and Ukraine announced the completion of another exchange of captured soldiers, carried out as part of an agreement reached earlier in June during peace talks in Istanbul.

The United States and Russia have reached an agreement on a prisoner swap, according to a senior official in Moscow, amid rising public frustration from President Trump directed at Russian President Vladimir Putin.
