The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched a series of coordinated drone attacks at dawn on Friday, targeting Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) military sites across Khartoum State, South Kordofan State, and the Blue Nile Region.

The rival Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are engaged in intense propaganda battles across broadcast and cyberspace as each seeks to build support for their side of the 3-year-old Sudan war.

Sudan’s ongoing civil war has devastated the country’s capital, Khartoum, with hospitals, churches and key infrastructure left heavily damaged or destroyed as fighting continues between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces.

The Sudanese army on Tuesday announced that its units have entered Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan State in southern Sudan, after more than two years of siege under the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and its allied forces.

The United States is calling for an immediate ceasefire in Sudan as violence escalates in the strategic Kordofan region. Secretary of State Marco Rubio described the fighting as “horrifying” and warned that all those involved will face lasting condemnation.

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) on Monday denied an accusation by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of bombing the residence of its ambassador in Khartoum, News.Az reports.
