Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry on Thursday urged Armenia and its supporters to avoid creating a new conflict zone in the South Caucasus region and vowed to take ‘necessary measures’ in response to any provocations.

Armenia, seemingly genuinely believing in the support of its foreign allies, has become emboldened and is actively increasing its military potential. Despite the devastating defeat and significant losses in the 2020 war and border clashes with Azerbaijan, the Armenian leadership has not abandoned its revanchist plans. On the contrary, it has embarked on large-scale rearmament, investing significant resources in acquiring modern weapons. However, these reckless actions may lead to the direst consequences for Armenia.

On June 14, at 07:15, the Armenian armed forces units from the positions in the direction of Khachik settlement of Soylan region using small arms subjected to fire the Azerbaijan Army positions stationed in the direction of Akhura settlement of Sharur region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, according to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.
