Azerbaijan increased its natural gas production by 2.4% in 2025, reaching 51.5 billion cubic meters, up 1.2 billion cubic meters compared with 2024, the Ministry of Energy reported.

In January - March 2025, the country produced 12.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas. 3.4 bcm of gas production extracted from ACG, while 6.8 bcm from Shah Deniz. Absheron and SOCAR produced 0.4 bcm and 2 bcm gas.

Azerbaijan produced nearly 20.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas in January-May 2024. Marketable natural gas made almost 16 billion cubic meters of this volume, News.Az reports citing the State Statistics Committee.

In June 2024, the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery (BOR), owned by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), will begin producing automotive gasoline that meets Euro-5 environmental standards, SOCAR's press service reports. This step marks an important phase in the refinery's modernization, aimed at improving product quality and reducing environmental impact.

According to operational data for January - April 2024, Azerbaijan produced 16.7 bcm of natural gas last month. 4.4 bcm of gas production extracted from ACG, while 9.2 bcm from Shah Deniz. Absheron and SOCAR produced 0.5 bcm and 2.6 bcm gas respectively. Gas was transported with an increase of approximately 0.5 bcm compared to the relevant period last year, the Ministry of Energy told News.Az.
