Simon Harmer took four wickets to leave India reeling at 90-5, putting South Africa on the brink of a 2-0 Test series whitewash on day five of the second match on Wednesday.

India’s Ravindra Jadeja claimed two wickets, but South Africa extended their lead to a commanding 395 runs as they edged closer to a series win in the second Test on Tuesday.

South Africa are closing in on their first Test series victory in India in 25 years after pace spearhead Marco Jansen took six wickets to bowl out the hosts for 201 in the second match on Monday.

Spinner Simon Harmer took four wickets to lead South Africa’s fightback, bowling out India for 189 after the hosts had built a slim lead of 30 on day two of the opening Test on Saturday.
