Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States, Olga Stefanishyna, confirmed that a controversial amnesty clause has been removed from Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan. The provision, which had raised concerns about justice and Russian accountability, is no longer part of the 19-point plan following negotiations in Geneva.

Ukraine is prepared to engage in peace talks but will not withdraw troops from additional territory, as Russia has demanded, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday.

Zelenskyy was in London for discussions with two dozen European leaders who have pledged military support to protect Ukraine from future Russian aggression.

Russia stands ready to facilitate the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan if necessary, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

Russia on Wednesday said its work on a memorandum that will outline key principles to establish peace with Ukraine is in the “final stages.”

Russia sincerely wishes success to Armenia and Azerbaijan in concluding a peace treaty and is ready to continue rendering all possible assistance to the parties in elaborating and signing such a document, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday.

Sergey Lavrov and Marco Rubio held a phone call to discuss a settlement to the conflict in Ukraine and the prospects for future bilateral contacts.
