“This year, we expect the beginning of production from the ACG deep gas field,” Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated during his speech at the 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 4th Ministerial Meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council in Baku on Tuesday.

Azerbaijan produced 27.7 million tons of oil, including condensate, in 2025, marking a 4.81 percent decline — or 1.4 million tons — compared to 2024, according to the Energy Ministry.

In the first half of 2025, Azerbaijan produced a total of 25.2 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas.

The Shah Deniz consortium has officially taken the final investment decision (FID) for the Shah Deniz Compression (SDC) project, marking the next phase in the development of the massive Shah Deniz gas field located in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea, News.Az reports, citing BP.

Azerbaijan’s oil production, including condensate, totaled 2.3 million tons in January 2025, according to operational data.

BP Azerbaijan has announced that the Shah Deniz field produced approximately 28 billion standard cubic metres of gas in 2024.
