A recent visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and a delegation to Azerbaijan has strengthened the strategic partnership between the two countries, Ukrainian officials said.

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Defence and Commander of the Land Forces, Colonel General Hikmat Mirzayev, met in Baku on Tuesday with a delegation led by Colonel General Metin Tokel, Commander of the Land Forces of the Turkish Armed Forces, to discuss the current state of military cooperation between the two countries and prospects for its further expansion.

Azerbaijan’s Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov met with his Italian counterpart Guido Crosetto in Rome on Monday to discuss the strategic partnership between the two countries and its prospects.

Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Minister of Defence and Chief of the General Staff Colonel General Karim Valiyev met in Doha on Wednesday with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani and the Chief of the General Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Lieutenant General Jassim bin Mohammed Al Mannai.

Armenia’s Defence Minister Suren Papikyan met with UAE Deputy Prime Minister, Defence Minister, and Dubai Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Monday to discuss opportunities for defence cooperation between the two countries, the Armenian Defence Ministry reported.

India and Sri Lanka have agreed to deepen defence cooperation and enhance interoperability across their armed forces, with Indian Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi holding wide-ranging talks with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya in Colombo on Tuesday.
